Default Speaker selection for 98z

Infinity, Image Dynamics, Kicker, or JL? I think I'll be upgrading the amp also. But I want to use the stock wiring. What kind of amp and speaker combo should I use for a good and cost effective upgrade. It doesnt have to win competitons I just want it to sound a lot better.

I have been using all JL in all my cars ive had...I have no complaints I love the sound they make and would recomend them to anyone..If you want to run an amp to them i would think something like an Alpine this should give you a pretty crystal clear sound..Just my opinion...Nick

JL is good, Rockford Fosgate's are GREAT too. Whichever is cheaper for you between the two. I'd say their both really dang good.

Can I just get 6.5 Subs from JL for the rear seat speakers, and then get JL 6.5 2 ways for the front and then 6.5 2 ways for the back? Can the monsoon amp push this?

Do a few searches...youll soon realize that putting nice speakers on the stock amp wont do you much good. If you arent gonna replace everything, then check out RogueLeader's posts. Otherwise you are probably wasting your time and money.

FYI the rear rear speakers are 3 1/2 in. Not 6.5 or 6x9 (stock..) I put 6.5 Rockfords in the front, kept the mids, 4" Pioneer 4 ways in the back, [All powered by stock amp AND headunit]. Then I have a Fosgate 12" Sub powered by a 500 watt solo amp. It hits clean and sounds AMAZING.

I would imagine he is referring to the sail panel speakers, which is why he said rear seat speakers...which are 6.5"
