NHRA Edition?

NHRA Edition?
What's the deal with these? I've been e-mailing back and forth with a guy who has a 2000 Pontiac Firebird Formula NHRA edition who wants to trade me for my car.
What's the scoop on something like this? What is there to look for? Does it really even matter?
Just curious. I'm an LS car ignoramus! Hell, I race a mustang with a SB2 motor, what do I know?

They arent any different in my mind. If your looking for something collectable then yes they will maybe a more uncommon car in a couple decades or two. Unfortunately GM produced a ton of them, they arent any faster than a stock formula or trans am if thats what your looking for.

I'm not too wrapped around the axle about collectability, just wondering what made them different if at all. Were there any funky options at all with them? How would you really know if one was a real one? This is just an FYI thing for me.

Another thing to consider is the mileage, on a more "collectible" car it makes a bigger difference. To most even the most collectible car loses most if not all of the collector value if the mileage is high. Just throwing that out because I've seen quite a few people with firehawks, CETA's, etc. that have 140k plus on them and they still think there worth a mint

As far as I know, just some tacky badges and a keychain. Maybe a dash plaque too?
I wouldn't pay $1 extra for one over a non-NHRA car, since I hate badges and would take them off anyway.
Buy it because you want the car, that NHRA stuff means zip.
