I have a 5 quart pan on a street driven LS motor.I bought a good oil pump but was warned that it can pump all the oil out of the pan when I spin the motor up high.They suggest pushrods that have a smaller hole up the center.Anyone hear of this?I am worried about dependability.I am doing the comp trunion up grade.Thanks

Oil restricting pushrods are basically the same as standard performance pushrods except the hole drilled in each end is smaller therefore limiting oil flow @ a given pressure. They do help in certain applications and may help you. What do you mean by a good oil pump? Did you buy a high volume Melling or a ported stock pump? LS oil pumps can move some oil and this can be a real issue for you. The entire lubrication system will need to be looked @ to ensure proper and consistent lubrication for your application.

Unrelated but look over your comp trunion kit really well... Their QC isn't exactly stellar.

Manton push rods have smaller oiling hole to reduce the amount oil going to the valvetrain. I run Manton push rods with no apparent effect on indicated oil pressure nor any valvetrain noise.

we sell a badass 3-piece pushrod that has a .080 wall, a smaller oilling hole and the strength of larger diameter pushrods

The oil have no way of staying up, it too is under the low of gravity, you need not worry about nothing, i have a high vol high pressure ported Melling, i see 74.5 psi starting at 4k rpm and never had any oil pressure drop, using the stock oil pan.

Manton and Smith brothers both make pushrods with smaller holes for slowing oil on the top end of engines. I have them in my truck engine and daily drive them. The first engine went 108,000 miles before breaking a lifter wheel on number 6 ex, they should not cause any problems in a daily driver.
