Default Best spot 4 AT temp sender.

I tried a SEARCH but no luck. Old car/LSx/65E. Where would be the best place to install a temp sender for the trans? Pan or pressure side? If the line is better, what fitting should I use to hook up a Auto Meter C2 gauge? If pan, does it matter where and how high up?

thanks,
Jim

I installed mine in the pressure line.....before the trans cooler. It reads within 4 degrees of the internal sensor in my trans. I'm curious if someone makes an OBDII port-friendly gauge...since the transmisssion has it's own sensor? Sure would have beeen nice not to have had to "plumb" one in. I used an Autometer #2286 manifold...if that helps ya.
