Default AIR blockoff plate question

Is there an alternative to buying the AIR blockoff plate? Could I use something from a hardware store that would work?

if you've got a dremel w/ cutoff discs and some metal stock, make your own. I think I paid about $3 for the metal needed for mine and I already had the gaskets kicking around. Not as pretty as the professionally made ones, but get the job done

Sheet of 18-gauge stainless from Lowes or Home Depot, a set of tin snips, new gasket, and the stock bolts are all it takes.

Speedinc has their house plates for pretty cheap. I think you'd spend the same if you made your own.

I took some stainless sheetmetal from a job I was hanging duct. Just traced out the pattern and drilled some holes. Then cut it out with my snips, I did this on my old 98 and worked great.

I cut up a old bed frame..you only need like a 3 in long piece.. And it's a little thicker than sheetmetal so as long as it's flat it won't leak
