why would you have your standards so low? for the cost to overhaul your ls1 to ls6 spec you can pick up a TEA/FMS h/c combo and be walking ls6's all day long
paceparts sells a conversion kit ranging from 1500-2500 depending on year and if you want ported heads.
and there is no ls5. theres lt1, ls1, ls6, ls2, and ls7.
and deepblue since he has an 02 he already has a 25% chance of having an ls6 block standard.

also technically there IS an LS5 but i dont think you want to put one in a fourth gen f-body....it was the lo-po version of the 454 big block that came in chevelles and el caminos and such...

forget both of them.....just do a good set of heads and a good cam and you'll eat LS6s for breakfast and have a lot more money leftover than if you went the 427 route. ask around some of the head/cam guys will point you in the right direction.

LS7, which is only a logical conclusion, it won't
be out until 2006 model year at earliest.
Don't forget that some inside sources also
say that depending on Dodge's response to the
500hp C6 with the Viper, an ultimate superC6 may
drop that will "blow away all know supercars"
and cost over 100 grand. I think either way GM
needs a exotic to match both the Viper and Ford GT40
