I doubt it, but figured I'd ask. I'm looking into some pro stars, and am not sure if they'll work or not. The pro stars have skinnies up front and are running drag radials in the back.

DR's will, just gotta have enough tread. I've had nothing but that on since I've had my car. Now the skinnies I'm not positive on...... it may depend on where you go, but I would think the tire tread would be the only issue. I'm not sure about the actual wheel though.

Yes and Yes. Skinnies pass because they are regular street tires, drag radials pass because they are DOT approved, therefore legal street tires. All tires just have to have above 2/32" tread and be DOT certified/approved to pass.

If the inspector gives you crap tell him the front tires would pass if they were on a volkswagen and, if he says something about size ask him the last time he failed someone for having bigger wheels, im sure he will say never so he can't fail you for smaller wheels (tires). If he complains about the drag radials show him the DOT stamp and measure the tread depth.

i believe prostars have "off road use only" stamped on the center area of the wheel around the center cap. i could be wrong, but i think i remember seeing that when i used to mount tires at competition sales. but on the flip side you see people running these on the streets all the time. i personally have had many sets of DR's and skinnies and have never had a problem with inspection.
