Default What the H$!@ is my pinion angle?!?!

ok ive read a lot of different articles and i feel like they all say something different. im trying to figure out my pinion angle and want to set it at -2. i was using a torpedo type digital angle finder. my drive shaft is 1.5 degrees up and i set my adj. t/a, so my rear end is .5 degrees down. does this mean im at -2, +2 or +1. if im wrong, how do i fix it? also i did do this with the vehicle loaded with my weight and on completely level ground. thanks guys and galls!

1.5 + -.5 = 1

For a -2 pinion you need to set your TA at -3.5

so the -2 is in relation to an imaginary level line, not the difference between the driveshaft and pinion? correct

The angle at the front and and rear of the driveshaft should be the same like the picture above.

Wouldnt you want the rear angle up .5 degrees if you had the driveshaft up 1.5? I guess it depends on which way you look at it. Im seeing it as from an imaginary level line through the center coming up 1.5 upwards on the driveshaft and upwards .5 degrees the other way up the rear.

I imagine it as you want the 2 degrees difference for when the rear drops when you launch. thus straightening out the angle between the two. I could be wrong but thats how I visualize it.
