this is the quote for my 402 build:

Here is the quote , I put together 3 different options. 1 is using your block ,forged pistons, and rods stock cubes. 2 is your block fully forged 402 cubes. 3 is whole new block 402 ci.

1. Forged pistons, h beam rods with arp rod bolts, stock crank and block . This includes all machining and short block assy 3000

2. Forged pistons, h beam rods with arp rod bolts, and forged 402 stroker crank. Includes all machining and short block assy 3850

3. Forged pistons, h beam rods with arp rod bolts, and forged 402 stroker crank. Includes all machining and short block assy New block and ARP main studs 5100

All 3 setups Include new rod, main, and cam bearing. Moly piston rings.

Here are the options for the heads

1.Use stock heads clean, 5 anglevalve job, deck, setup valve springs, and dual 675 springs with titanium retainers,7 degreee locks 700

2. New stage 3 ls6 heads with 2.05 intake valves and 1.60 stainless exhaust ,675 springs with titanuim retainers 1950

Here are the rest of the parts that we will need with whatever short block and heads you go with.

Timing set- cam ,crank, and timing chain- 189
Hv oil pump 209
Custom ground camshaft 420
HP lifter set 235

The top number one will be my setup, my block, forged rod and piston, stock cube or 369 may be new cube.

Did that quote in your #1 include all gaskets also? and how did you get it done for $1000 less? was yours half filled, etc.?

I will be using factory Ls9 heads.possibly with upgraded trunions and def. valvesprings, etc. otherwise untouched.

Some of the machine work seems on the less expensive side of average.

Decking and balancing tend to be a little higher from my experiences. Especially if thats a stock LS2 crank which will likely need slugs to balance the aftermarket rotating assembly.

$300 seems cheap to put it together especially if the rings need to be file fit. Hopefully they're not going to rush anything for you in the name of not working for $15 an hour
