It had zero engine noise after this happened and happened with the engine totally stock at cruise. I put the stock exhaust and intake back on for a smog inspection and a few days later..... I will pull the head tomorrow but I am guessing a stuck or broken valve or bad valve guide.

Just a misfire. If the piston and cylinder wall is ok after I pull the head and I can find the other piece of pushrod I might just put some milled 317 heads and cheatr cam to fix it. If I have any doubt its got to come out though for a re-ring.

I decided I think that I will sell my Meziere and the header back exhaust I have to pay for it. I already sold the Fast 90 but still have the fast throttle body and will likely sell that also.

I guess I did get lucky enough because it turns out that the valve had light impact with the piston. I still am amazed I had no abnormal noise out of the engine before or after it happened. With the valve spring off the valve is sticking but I do not know if it is because it is bent or because it has a bad guide. Anyways at minimum I need to do the cam, timing set, lifters, and either fix these heads or put the 317s I have that I was going to use on my Buick project. I might buy a re-ring kit and just deglaze the cylinders so the motor can have fresh rings and pistons but I have not decided yet.
