Default Looking for suggestions

Here is what the car is used for. It’s a weekend toy that I take to the track maybe twice a month. I compete in a local street car shootout and my class is Real Street which means I have stay over7.50 in the 1/8 and on real street tires (tread wear of 160 or better). I currently run 1.97 60 ft., 8.32@85.9mph. I was getting ready to buy a 3800 stall for the car but my concern is that with street tires I won’t really get much of a gain and will just spin instead of lower my E.T. Now I am considering nitrous as an option to solve my problem. I know I can purchase a basic kit and get a WOT switch, wiring, hoses, and bottle. I think for my use/application a rpm window switch would be a must so I don’t overpower the tires since I have to stick with the street tires.

Are there other accessories that you guys consider an absolute MUST HAVE.. This would be used ONLY at the track and it needs to keep me right about 7.50.. I see used kits going for 1300 to 300 and I have no idea how much "kit" I would actually need for how I am going to use it.. I am also guessing my "shot" would be around a 75 to get me where I want to be but correct me if I am wrong.. I just want to keep my title and there is a Z06 that is now competing that runs 7.7X's..

If you know he is running 7.70's, I would try and set the car up to run consistent 7.50's. Make them tree you then they have to break out to get around u. sounds like a fun class to run in. are nitto's not allowed? technically they are street tires

No, drag radials are not allowed and I am sure the Nitto has a tread wear of less than 160. I have seen him run several times and I don’t think he is sandbagging at all. I think the 7.70 runs is everything the car has.. Most are 7.80's but he breaks into the 7.70 on occasion

i know some guys that would run in a bracket and get close to the time, then have a 100 shot wired up on a button so they could thumb it as needed to stay ahead if the other car was close.
