Default Need opinions

I've got a th350 in my 80 T/A. Im gonna tell you before I tell you what happened, I'm an idiot.... period. I missed a bellhousing bolt out when i pulled my motor and I busted my bellhousing all to crap. It broke a piece out and cracked it. People have told me to have it welded, do you guys think it will hold. The motor probably isn't making 300 horsepower but probably some pretty good torque. its an old 400. what do you guys think? thanks

Don't feel bad, I did that once about 25 years ago. I always quadruple check now.

If you have all the pieces, and didn't break the dowel pin area, have it welded. It's the dowel pins that do the torsional holding.

Or you could find a good used case and transfer your internals.

That's my opinion.
