Default lq4 fittment/sensors

Hey gang. I have been mulling around the idea or pulling my ls1/t56 to fix my 4 hear. My car only has 66k and is a 02 ws6. Id like to put a lq4 or 9 in it. I would use 243 heads, ls6 intake and prob a factory ls6 cam, 04 and up. I have read about the harness and timing cover issues but a little confused. Can someone suggest to me exactly what will need converting? I know theres a reluctor and crank sensor issue but it fogs me up. Any better years to use? Can I just replace the timing chain and cover and the rest is the same?
Thanks in advance,
your mother.......

i did this swap in my 99 t/a,

i had to change over my windage tray from my ls1, used the ls1 oil pan and pickup tube as well. the existing windge tray on the lq4 is not desiglned to fit the stock ls1 oilpan.

you will need to drill and tap a bolt boss for the alternator bracket to bolt up on the bottom side of the motor..everything else is straight forward. no timing cover modifications or anything like that.

besides all that stuff. my lq4 just dropped right in, harness is the same, connectors are the same, sensors are even the same part numbers if you use them or swap yours over.

well, im still waiting to get it tuned, with the turbo, cam, and 80# injectors i still need to put in (currently on stockers) so i havent really beat on it, just cruise it, exhaust tone seems a lil deeper, i cant say anything about the mpg as the car is just plain a gas hog! lol, i say its worth it, stronger motor, and more room to grow then a ls1 IMO!.
