Will an LS1 master work on an Lt1 brake setup?

The reason I ask is I was doing brakes on a 150,000 mile Lt1 T/a and I wanted to flush fluid and my buddy went to manual brakes so he had a low mileage LS1 master sitting on shelf so I used it b/c it was cleaner than mine inside the reservoir and my brakes don't work good the pedal is rock hard but I have no stopping power so we change the booster , and nothing then we change the front calipers b/c with them off the rotor they only moved about an 1/8the of an inch when you mash brake pedal, still no good but pedal is rock hard, so either the master went bad sitting on the shelf or the internals are diff on the two masters and the LS1 doesn't work on the LT1 calipers, any ideas.
