I was asked to buff some compounding marks on the hood, but I got a little carried away and did the whole car. After assessing the condition of the paint, it really needed it.

The paint was extremely soft, making it easy to correct, but will be difficult to maintain. I'm talking so soft that my finger was putting scratches in it.

I got most of the swirls out, but some RIDS still remained.

Unfortunately I didn't get any before pictures of it outside because doing the whole car was not planned.

I also spent some time darkening the grill and under the headlights.
Unfortunately the sun was going down so I didn't get any really good sun shots. I missed it by like 30 minutes. Either way it looks a whole lot better than it did and it's ready for the show next weekend.

Wow... Up front above the grill is especially a huge difference. I washed my car today and realized just how bad my paint is swirled and scuffed up. Perhaps soon I can take an orbital to it and try to get it looking like that.

As far as correcting you paint with an orbital, I don't think they are strong enough. I think they are just for applying wax.
I would suggest picking up a porter-cable DA kit for around $300 with everything you need and read up on how to use it properly. Once you practice on your car, you can do your friends cars and pay it off and then some.
