In other words, will an LS1's computer function the same, on say, a half charged battery, versus a fully charged battery? I have used Bosch EFI engines in years past, that were down on wide-open throttle & power, if the batteries were'nt perfectly charged up at all times. Just wondering if the F-Body LS1's computer was the same? Thanks in advance.

My fuel pump doesn't seem to work well without a good battery and alternator. Just based on the fact that it's passively cooled and stuffed into tight spaces I wouldn't think the computer itself needed a whole lot of power though. Could be wrong.

All computer controlled vehicles will ruin extremely poorly with low voltage....if at all in my dealership experience. Often a bad terminal, or ground will F your day up. But yes, good voltage, ground source is KEY on these LS cars.

Good to know, thanks. Going to put a slow charge on the battery & see if this helps overall. And double-check, what I thought, were good grounds.

Rule of thumb is that a PCM needs 10 volts minimum to work. If you drop to or below 10 volts during cranking the PCM will not fire the coils or injectors.

Granted, this is just a rule of thumb, somebody out there will surely claim that they can crank and start their car on 2 volts.
