eagle crank leaking?
I have an LME lq9 370 with an eagle crank bought from a member on here that was used under 100 miles. there is no pilot bearing in it when I got it so it was just an open bore. there is a oil residue inside, not a huge pool or anything but residue inside. I am wondering if its leaking past the freeze plug?
Has anyone siliconed or jb welded the plug after it has been installed in the crank not while installing the plug? anyone have a picture of how much they put on it?

I can't imagine any sealer (even if the surface was oil-free) holding 60# oil pressure. If you're not gonna run a pilot bearing, would there be room to piggyback another plug, this one with sealant? Or better yet, you could just remove the plug that's there and replace it.
