t56 Case Differences
Long story short, I broke a piece off the main case of my T56. I would prefer to get a new case as the piece that needs to be welded is so small. The case I have came out of a corvette, and the casting number is 1386-066-904. Can I use a case from a camaro/firebird with a diff. casting, or do the numbers mean something here? Thanks for any help.

I'm looking to purchase an LT1 T56 that has the *exact* same number on it that yours has. Did you ever identify this transmission? If so, what is it? Do you know what it's gearing is?

Those casting numbers don't identify anything but that one piece.
The 1386-xxx number on the decal atop the case or on the tailhousing tag are what matter with regard to interchange.
LT1 had 1386-006 or 007 in 1993. Those are unique in gearing and sometimes VSS wheel.
009 is 1994-5 and 016 is 1996-7. Those two are 100% interchangeable.
