Help! code p0740 after trans go shift kit install
#3
Hey bud, just for future reference... it will be much easier for us to follow your upgrades if you would simply use the same thread instead of creating a new thread every time you have a question. Seriously, it might make a difference in what information you get, and I just don't have the time to go back and look up those other threads.
Now that being said... disconnect the large electrical connector on the transmission. Then start it and let us know if it goes into limp mode, but does not fie when you put it into gear.
What is happening is your torque converter clutch is being applied when it should not be. We need to find out if it is electrical or mechanical. Then we can determine what needs to be fixed.
When you did the kit install, did you remove the lockup valvetrain in the pump?

Did you remove the lock up valve by mistake and then reinstall it incorrectly? Many guys do that, it's an easy rookie mistake.
And yes, that is the large electrical connector located above the pain rail at the right rear area of the transmission.

ok well the regulator valve stayed in there when i did it i looke up there and saw it and decided not to pull it out then i installed the 2 new springs and the new boost valve. but i just unpluged the tranny plug and it ran just fine and when i put it in reverse it didnt die this time... so i guess nothing mechanical

ok so i went ahead and installed the the little alum spacer as pictured above and put it back together just as it shows n put snap ring in the grove then checked all eletric pulgs and prongs and all are good. but still does the same thing but it will move when the big tranny plug is off. and the only code it shows is the tcc, code p0740. also i checked all fuses and they are good. heres what my software says the cause is: Engine speed over 450 rpm for 5 seconds, system voltage from 10-18v, Fuel Cutoff not active, then the VCM detected one of the following conditions for 5 seconds Condition 1: TCC solenoid commanded on and voltage feedback remained high Condition 2: TCC solenoid commanded off and voltage feedback remained low.
So should i order a new wiring harness since it comes with a new tcc or what? Thanks for the help guys
