Default Start with 10 PSI?

It is a bone stock 2000 ls1. The waste gate came with 2 springs a 7-8 psi and a 10 psi spring. I do not want to run more then 10 psi. So I do not need a boost controller. Should I just start out with 10 psi? What octane gas should I run with 100% meth? Is 10 psi to much for the stock heads and block?

parts list
Modular turbo kit
78mm 81ar turbo
50 lbs injectors
255pump with hot wire kit
devils own meth kit single nozzle but also have the dual nozzle if I max out my m14 nozzle. running 100% meth
big ebay intercooler
JGE waste gate
M6 with 4.10's

Start with the lowest boost spring you have, just because you have a 10lb spring doesn't mean it always will equal 10 lbs, it could be more or less. You will want to get rid of those 4.11's, they are horrible with a M6.

Keep the 7 psi spring in, and put a boost controller on it.

You can also disconnect the boost reference port (bottom) and put a plug in the hole at the compressor. Will probably make about 10-11 psi that way. Just bring it up slow to make sure the boost doesn't get away from you and see where it ends up.

Since your running stock bottom end I'd keep it at a conservtive amount of boost (~7psi). Once you upgrade to better internals, that's when I think you should start running above 10psi. Good luck!

I am turbo charging my truck engine. My waste gate comes with a 6lb spring and a 15lb spring. I will always start with the low spring just to make sure everything is going fine.

It is easy to change a spring in a waste gate. It is a lot harder to rebuild an entire engine.
