paint restoration
Hey guys. I don't usually share pics of my details but i figured i would share this one just to show that even older not so exotic cars can benefit from some good elbow grease.... or at least a porter cable.
This Wrangler was picked up by a family member for hunting. It is a '93 model that needed a transmission, and clutch, and apparently a paint job. So while the tranny shop was getting parts together I pulled the jeep to my house to see if I could save the paint and save some coin.
I did clean the hell out of all exterior surfaces however i would not consider this a "detail" as i did not touch the interior nor the under-body. Scrubbing and dressing the wheel wells did not make sense seeing as though the jeep will be receiving some new shoes and thrown in the dirt.
Truck is washed and cleaned for picks:
prepped for buffing
this is a close up of the door before and after. after 2 passes with M105
someone at one point in time repainted the front end and did not attempt to blend into the stock paint
the hood was really sun damaged
and after 5 hours of buffing and dressing the molding
as you can see i was able to help blend new paint with factory
Now time to get some venison!!

Steve at sfx hooked me up with the free sample so I was looking for an excuse to try it. I thought it worked pretty well actually. I will be calling him soon for a full bottle.

I only used 105 on the factory paint. I cleaned it up with Wolf Gang product. The front end had some really soft aftermarket paint. I was able to polish it with one pass of SIP.
