I replaced this transmission with a 4L80e in my truck because I wanted something heavy duty to handle the weight as I started adding power. The 60e always shifted great, never gave me any complaints and never threw a code. It has been rebuilt with the 5 pinion planetary gearset by the same builder who did my 80e that has been putting up with 1000+ torque for a while now. He is a fantastic builder with many 4L60e and 700R4 transmissions behind very high horsepower cars, several in the 4-digit horsepower range. For comparison, this transmission is very similar to a Performabuilt level 3, which is also a great transmission. The upgraded gearset makes this a tough and very desireable unit. I'd like to see this transmission find a home in a car or truck that can really make use of it...and I expect a PM with updates on track times!
