Default Pt76gtsh billet or non billet for 293ci

Doing a stock shortblock 4.8l set up and planning on using a truck manifold style turbo kit with a pt76gts. Should I get a regular wheel or a billet wheel? Which anti surge compressor cover do u recommend, bullet style or regular ported. Which exhaust housing, .81 or .96, I assume the .96. Is this turbo a good size for the 293ci engine? From what I have looked at it seems like a good match. As of now I am planning the billet 76gtsh with .96ar housing. Planning on using a 02-04 z06 cam and a good dual spring and a set of 799heads. Should be 9.1:1.

Let me know what u guys think. Power out put on 93 and c16? Spool rpm? Thanks in advance.

It all depends on the HP goals, car, trans, use of vehicle, etc.

I am running a 4.8L stock/T56 using a T-netics TC76 .96 A/R and am running 10's with traction issues.

Use of car will be street and drag. It's a Nissan 240 @2500 lbs. Just took out my ls1 that went 10.49 n/a and 9.74@138 on a 150 shot. Not really any traction issues at those power levels. Looking to go in the 8s and hoping to keep the 6spd. Thinking 600-650 on 93 for the street and 750+/- for the track on c16

The GTS turbine wheel is the choke point on a Precision 76/75 with a .96 A/R turbine housing. Either turbo will meet your power goals.

Not sure on your specific setup but on a 9.1:1 346 LS1 we had full boost around 3000 (LS6 cam).

No antisurge cover on the 346 and it was fine. Poopra engines definitely need the antisurge though (180 cubes), the regular ported shroud took care of those fine.

Well this is going to be on a 293ci 4.8l with 799s. I'm thinking the billet 76gtsh with ported shroud will be a good choice. Looking to have boost around 3500. What boost were u seeing at 3k and what turbo kit were u using? Also what power were u able to make.

Very excited about this setup n/a power is ok but gets boring easily and there is no boost controller on an n/a car.

750whp would be absolutely no issue with either the cast or billet wheel 7675 on a 4.8L. I would go with whichever you can get cheaper. Go with a .96 housing if it's a front mounted turbo, .81 if it's in the back. Run E85 if you can. If you can run E85, get the .96 even if it's in the back. 750whp probably wouldn't be hard with 93 and meth though.

The wastegate was all the way open at 12 psi. Hinson hot parts kit with turblownetics wastegate. The cold side and I/C were all custom. No actual dyno numbers but the butt dyno and a couple of highway runs against a known combo said about 700 rwhp on 93 octane. It had TFS 215s, open downpipe and a boost creep problem though.

I would imagine you will be closer to 600 on pump than 650 but on C16 it will make more than 750. Not sure about the spool up, you have a pretty small engine there. It shouldn't be hideous though.

Sweet! It will be mounted in the front. I'd love to run e85 but there are only 2 stations within 30 miles of me and I don't wanna worry about that. Planning on running race gas for a 750rwhp setting. Looking for 600-650 on 93.

The cast is 1339.00 and the billet is 1453.00 so I am going to go with the billet as it's barely more expensive.
