Question ls1 to 2004r tranny do I need spacer?

I am using a 98 ls1 corvette motor and bolting it to a 2004r tranny do I need the spacer like used with a 700r4 ?

If you have a flat flexplate then yes. I think there are some 6.0L truck flexpaltes that have are offset from the crank flange and they don't need a spacer.
