Default External Waste gate and boost control ?'s

can someone school me on the external waste gate. I've only used internals on my Turbo Buicks. I want to do a Turbo 5.3 in one of my GN's. It looks like people are using truck manifolds. I want to run a single turbo like a 76.

Where do you plumb in the waste gate and what's everyone using for boost control on say "budget" builds.

TIA

Bottom port on wastegate gets manifold reference, and your boost controller gets postive pressure source and then goes to the top of the gate.

Wastegate itself is plumbed into the exhaust stream before the turbo in the most direct path of exhaust gas flow.

Budget, Manual controller, however, pieces of ****. Get a greddy, or aem, or something of the like for an electronic, unless you got big bucks, then go NLR.

Not manifold reference. Compressor cover reference goes to the bottom port. It should not see vacuum. Manifold reference is for the BOV.
