The motor is a 2004 GTO with medium length headers, no emissions and stock cam. The plan is to take it from the collectors to 2.5" pipes to a Y and out with a single 3".
What I would like is a good sound without being too loud, this is a daily driver. The muffler that is planned is a Borla turbo with an offset in and center out.
Would a single muffler out back be enough to quiet it down or should I use a mid muffler? Both would be straight through design.
This is what it sounds like with open headers:

Did the same for my LS6 wrangler. 2.5" into an flow master merge into a 3" Flow master 3" the back of the wrangler. First flow master was delta 50 and t was bit loud. More than bit. Changed it out to 70 series and bbbiiiggg improvement.

On the Jeep it has good sound. No drone to speak of but that 70 series is big.
I don't see a need for mid muffler. The 3" 70 series is 3" all the way thru. Not 2.5" with the ends expanded like some 3" mufflers.

Thanks, that is what I need to know. No need to buy two mufflers if one will do the job. It doesn't need to be whisper quiet. I don't want to be obnoxiously loud and I have no point of referrence.
