Can you do away with the vinyl roofs?

I removed the one from my first 69 Camaro with success. You will need to grind off the studs that hold clips that hold the mouldings on other than that its some minor sanding and filling and your set. I was always told that the cars with the vinyl tops from the factory were the ones that had imperfections in the roof or tops of the quarters. So be prepared to do some body work. The worse part would be the parting line between the roof panel and the tops of the quarters. If you do have to blend these two in you will need to remove the lead out of the joint. While your at it you might as well remove the lead out of the A-pillar joint too. Just do not overheat it while removing the lead. I used a wet sponge to wipe away the lead while it was melting and to cool the area back off so no warpage would occur.
