What engine did the silverado have in it?

Will it work? Well sure it will work but it will not be a direct swap in my opinion. You will need to address a few differences in the units before doing the install. In either case of the two vehicles you have listed the 2nd gear band servo will be different. The manual shifter shaft is longer in the truck unit so you will have to swap in a short linkage for your fbodies. Providing the truck unit is a 2wd you will need to swap the extension housings. Also there is a piece pressed on the 2wd truck unit to seal the transmission for a vented yoke. I suggest that you remove this and just install your extension housing. There are some other internal calibration differences in these units however it will still work for you. If you were to install a transgo hd2 kit or some other shift kit for this unit they will take care of the calibration issues. HTH Vince
