Default Tune with head cam install

Well getting ready to fire it up. Anything you guys with head/cam install turned off or changed before fireing it up? Have TSP stage 2.5 (5.3) heads, and t2 cam.

Turned off? Not really. Made some airflow, idle RPM, Timing, and fueling changes for the initial start-up. Just to make it run and safe.

Yes. Follow along...

Couple of basics:

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Idle > Idle RPM > Idle RPM > Target Idle Speed > = +200rpm all values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Idle > Idle Airflow > Base Running Airflow > Airflow Final Minimum > = +4 all values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Idle > Idle Airflow > Startup > Start Airflow Initial > = +4 all values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Spark Control > Spark Advance > Idle Spark Advance > Base > = low rpm only, all values < 1,000rpm ideal 22*-25* of timing.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Spark Control > Spark Advance > Idle Adaptive Spark Control Over speed and Under speed > P/N and Gear > Over -2, Under +2.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Spark Control > Spark Advance > Main Spark Advance > Cranking > +3* all values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Airflow > General Airflow > Cranking VE > Primary > +5% all values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Idle > Idle Airflow > Friction Airflow Initial > +3 all values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Idle > Idle Airflow > Friction Airflow Decay > -decrease values.

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Fuel Control > General > Cranking Fuel > +5% all values will help eliminate those ONLY starts after 2nd attempt.

Thanks man, made the changes and going to fire it up in the am! Sucks that the LS6 intake was busted in the mail so I cant use it. Just bolted the LS1 on for now till I can find another one!

Actually a few questions about this. Is

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Spark Control > Spark Advance > Main Spark Advance > Cranking > +3* all values. (Mine has "HIGH OCTANE AND LOW OCTANE" Is that what I am adding 3* across the board to?)

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Spark Control > Spark Advance > Idle Spark Advance > Base > = low rpm only, all values < 1,000rpm ideal 22*-25* of timing. (Mine has "IN DRIVE" and "IN PARK" I just make everything less than 1000 rpm's 22*?)

Hp Tuners VCM Editor > Engine > Idle > Idle Airflow > Friction Airflow Decay > -decrease values. (How much do I decrease these?)

Thanks again
