Default O2 sensor plug and wiring quetion

I have a 2000 5.3, Before I bought it someone cut the exhaust off of it, and instead of unplugging the O2 sensors they just cut them on the harness side of the wiring. My question is can i solder on new plugs ,or does it need to be an uninterupted connection to read properly? I search the forums back till 03 and could not find an answer. Thanks

Solder should be fine.

You can solder the harness side all you want. The sensor side you cannot, because HO2s use stainless wire that resists solder

Thanks guys, I was hoping that I could just solder on new harness ends. Now it"s off to the junkyard I go to find some.
