Can I cut away the AC bracket bolt hole from the block?
I tried to fit my Corvette C5 ls1 Engine bracket on my Chevy lm7 today. I mounted the one on the driver side without any problems, Then I came to the passanger side.
The bolthole for the AC is in itīs way and need to be cut away to make the bracket line up for the boltholes. So I wonder if I can cut it away without any problems? I will not use AC in my car.
Here in the green ring you see the space between the bracket and itīs mounting hole. And in the red is the piece I want to cut away.

I wouldn't compromise the strength of the aluminum bracket. It looks like the bolt boss on the block can be ground down a bit and you'll have the clearance. A washer later will straighten a A/C bracket if needed.
I'm with s10gxn, are you sure you have these brackets oriented correctly?

Ok great, This engine will sit in "race"car so there will never be any ac. I think I will grind the piece away from the block. Then I can have the engine mounts in wrong direction and have the engine further back.
The bracket on the driver side bolts up straigt on att all 3 bolts. Wonder why the truck mounts use 4 bolts when corvette only use 3?
