Default ls1 with blown bottom end

Theres a guy local who has an ls1 out of an 04 gto and the bottom end is shot.
hes pretty sure the crank is damaged, spun bearings, etc.. Basically nothing usable on he bottom end but he claims the top end is still good.

Would this be a good project engine or is something like this just a big risk and a waste of money?

Its about 250 bucks for what he has. which is the engine with a blownup bottom end, balancer, oilpan, headers,etc..

so for an ls1 as a project it is cheap, but i dont want to buy something and find out the block is garbage.

My other option for what im looking at is to just do some honeing to clean up the cylinders of my current 68 GTO's engine and build up that.

Ls1 block blown bottom end I wouldn't pay more than 100. But that's just my opinion.

yea with all that aluminum as soon as something goes its alot easier for something real bad too happen versus a stronger iron block...i would pay prob 150-200 because you could easily get tha back in scrap $ at the scrapyard
