Default Couple questions for wiring bottle heater? Size wire and fuse?

What size wire are you guys running back from your battery to your bottle heater? Or what size is recomended? I have 10 gauge and it seems pretty damn thick. Also I bought a 30 amp fuse to put in line. Will that be enuf?

Wire size is good, you should run a relay for the heater and not just an inline fuse. The heater relay is triggered by a 12v source which turns it on, thus completing the circuit from the relay to the ground, battery power and pressure switch.

I am running a relay also. Just wanted to make sure I had the right wire and fuse. I just ran everything tonight. Just have to connect all the wires tommarow... Ready to be done with all the wires lol

Sizes are determined by the amp draw of the system....
Watts divided by 13V will tell you pretty close as to what the amps will be. Choose the components to handle that load.

This also might help once you got the amperage determined.

My heater says it pulls 18 amps. And I measure my wire to be about 13ft. Going by the chart it looks like I'm pushing it with the 10ga wire. If it actually pulls 18 amps I think I will be ok. Going by this other chart I should be fine. Going off yours I'm cutting it real close. Hopefully it will be fine.

Going off this chart I even have a little room left....
