What would you guys consider to be the upper limit of SAFE HP/Torque with a Strange 12 bolt behind a Trans Braked Turbo400 with slicks at the strip?

That's all going to depend on the weight of the car, and what's in the axle as far as parts (what spline, carrier, and gear type.)

I would say the 12-bolt would be good for low 1.30's in a full weight car. Power really isn't the issue because some cars make 1000hp and 60' in the 1.5range. In that case the 12 bolt would live forever behind that particular setup. On the other hand, a 600 hp car that goes 1.30's will be a lot harder on the rearend. I built a 12-bolt for a friend of mine with a similar setup to your rearend that runs 5.80's in the 1/8th with consistant high 1.20's. It has been living for about a year now with no issues but the car weighs around 3000 pounds with a driver.
