Default temp guage?

I have a new 160* stat, car is tuned, suposedly, the tuner programmed the fans to come on at 160 or so. Where should my guage be reading. It still sits very close to 210 (middle of gauge)
By the way this a '01 SS

Thanks

The temp gauges in the 99+ cars suck and are not to be trusted. You're best bet is to use Atap/EFILive to monitor the temps. You'll find that the actual temps will differ from the gauge.

The 98's are the ones with accurate gauge us 99+ have dummy gauges

I would have thought that by now a fix would be in to have the factory gage acutally reflect the correct temp.

After I changed my t-stat to the 160 the temp guage always sits right around 180/190 area. Before the guage it used to sit on the 210 area.
