What happens if I do this....
I want to have a spare PCM for my car.
I have a 2002 LS1 PCM with a custom 3 BAR OS in my car.
The second PCM has the same HDW as the original and I have licensed it but I have not upgraded the OS on it. I use HpTuners.
Will it be OK to just do a write entire of my stock PCM OS and calibration onto the second PCM? Or do I have to upgrade the OS on the new one to the 3BAR HpTuners OS as well before I write?
Would'nt this be the same as writing a Camaro OS on a Truck PCM? I have written a 2004 GTO OS onto a truck PCM with success before....
Don't want to fry the second PCM....
Thanks for any input !

The thing is for your 3 bar OS to work and your car to operate properly I would think you would have to flash the 3 bar OS to that spare one.
I think the MAP sensor is a 0-5V sensor or 1V-5V sensor... and 1 bar, 2 bar, 3 bar all operate on that same voltage range...not certain on this

To ask the question more simply:
Can I do a write entire of the old PCM onto the new PCM without upgrading the new PCM to 3 BAR first?
Kinda thinking that the upgrade would be useless as long as i do a write entire??

No, I need the 3 BAR operating system.
Just want to know if I can take my 3 BAR SD tune and write it directly onto another PCM (write entire) .... or will this fry the other PCM since the 3 BAR is a custom OS from HpTuners?
Need to have a spare PCM because this is in a offroad race vehicle and dont want to get stuck during a race if something happens to the one in the car.
