Default Recommended head gasket for a 408 stroker 4.03 bore

using 243 shaved .020 heads if that matters...

Thanks, and where's the best/cheapest place to buy them?

I think most people would say use a GM gasket for best value.Your 4.03 bore is to big for the LS2/6L gasket so you need the LS3/L92 gasket.

I just went through this. The GM performance parts L92 head gaskets are the cheapest option.

cometic and felpro make 4.030 but ther are nearly $100 each. I bought my L92s for $65 shipped.

I used Fel-pro 1041's. More expensive then the GM gaskets but cheaper then the Cometics.
