Default Oil in Coolant???

I obtained an LS1, 1998, and had the short block rebuilt by a local machine shop. After final assembly with new gaskets and paying attention to all torque specs, I warmed the engine which ran smoothly and then road tested the car without a problem. Upon checking fluids after the road test I found oily foam in the coolant which looked like engine oil. There was no coolant in the oil pan. Can anyone tell me where this leak might be coming from?

Thank you for the input and quick reply. So far I have eliminated the power steering cooler as the cause. It is currently being used in another vehicle without any leaking problem. Still looking for another possible source of the contamination.
