Default Wideband Sensor Placement

Im trying to decide on a spot to mount my wideband O2 sensor. From what I've read, its best to have it 12-18" away from the turbo. I would rather mount it down near the starter, 2-3 ft. from the turbo. What effect will this have on the accuracy of the reading? Thanks

I read 32"s several places and vertical.... thats how mine is... I am sure either way would be fine as the tail pipe "sniffer" and in car gauge showed pretty much the same..

It must be 15° above horizontal at least and come after the turbo. I don't think it is necessarily bad to put it farther away from the turbo.

Good deal. Thanks for the input. I was planning on mounting it vertically on the top of the downpipe.

Definitely nothing wrong with mounting it a few feet away from the turbo.
