Default Wanted: Step by step detailing process

Background: Used to drive my car twice a week to work, used to drive 60miles one way to work. New job is 12 miles away, plan on driving car much more this year.

Trying to wrap my head around detailing my car. I have an orbital buffer and a Makita high speed/variable buffer. I have used it before with decent results.

What order and products should I use? Looking for your typical parts store products, nothing crazy expensive..not looking for insane results. I just want to make my car appear as good as possible given a small budget, shiney and smooth.

My car is a 1996 Camaro Z28, black, not factory paint. Paint is not in very good condition. Really wanted to get a repaint but using the money elsewhere.
