Default H3 Oil Pan has no oil level sensor?

I don't know how I didn't notice this before, but I just started wiring up my engine yesterday while it was still on the stand to make sure all the wires were the correct length and when I got to the oil level sensor I didn't see one. I think the pan I have on my 5.3L is from a H3. With the engine run without it? Should I add one some where else? It can't hurt to have a light to tell you if you are low on oil.
