Low oil Light Never comes on?

Default Low oil Light Never comes on?

Whats the deal? I've been as much as one or two quarts low and the light never comes on. It used to always come on when i was a quart low what gives?

ok I am glad someone has posted this. Mine is doing the same thing, they say I am burning it but serioulsy I ma never behind the car when I am driving it! And I never smell anything burning or when its idiling i never see blk smoke!

I just tried unplugging it and turning the car on.......Still nothing.

I just also noticed that when i start my car and all the lights on the guages flash......only sometimes does the low oil light come on and the rest it just doesn't light up at all.....

I just spun a main bearing because my oil was so low. Yes, you shouldn't depend on the idiot lamp - but for the record the light never came on.

I know it doesn't work on my 98. All the oil was out and the light still did not come on.

Do you guys not know where your dipstick is? I think it's sad you're relying on a guage to tell you to put oil in, especially if it results in you messing up your car.

i prefer the gauge at the other end of that metal stick with a yellow ring on top

Well if i didnt know how to use or want to use the dipstick i would never know my car was low with oil since the light doesn't work. I just think if you have this extra feature it should work. And if it doesn't, I'd rather it start to work again by me fixing it rather than it just going to waste and have another thing that doesn't work on my car.... More of an obsessive compulsive thing....
