LS7 Clutch strength?
What can an LS7 clutch really take? I know its a factory style clutch and thats why I ask. I know it will handle my power level, but I just put in a 9 inch and I want to go get a nice time with some sticky tires. Anyone have experience or opinion on this thing?

I think if you are going to be drag racing your car and possibly hot lapping it, a monster stage 2 would be better for your application. If you are just using it as a DD/cruiser/street race and only drag racing it once and a while, the LS7 should work just fine with your current set up. I just ordered me up a stage 2 monster because of the sale....which ends in a cpl days.

That clutch won't handle repeated hard launch in a heavy F-body like it will in the lighter Corvette. I would go with something abit stronger. It'll probably hold for a short period of time but if your car can consistantly hook, that clutch isn't going to last long and will end up slipping on you. You should look into what McLeod has to offer. I've run many of clutches in my SS (LS7 being one of them) and I've had the best luck with McLeod clutches, namely the RXT.

Yeah I know being an OEM clutch its not for drag launches. I dont plan to pull any tire or dead hook the thing. Just some very heavy launches. Monster, spec, or some 6 puck, shoot maybe a twin disc will be going in it before I expect to do any of that. The main point here is just to be positive I wont kill my daily driver by putting on some slicks

I concur. As the others stated, the LS7 obviously isn't designed for 5K launches on slicks -- and it sounds like you already know you'll need to upgrade to something stronger to beat on it hard at the track regularly. I've been pleasantly surprised with the holding power of the clutch thus far at roughly 600 rwhp on spray, however I can attest that it will bark at bit on really hard launches.
That being said, if you want to get a few runs in then head out there and leave with a modestly aggressive launch. Don't have to dump it from 5K or pull tires to get a few good runs in and have some fun at the track.
