So I got a buddy who bought a motor that had been sitting for like a year. We tore it down tonight to check everything out and make sure that it had what it said it did. Well I want to look at the lifters and see the how the rollers were. Well what i discovered is that there is no retainer clip on the top of the lifter.

Is there a reason that a person would take the retaining clip out of the lifter? All 16 lifters were like this. I am just at a lost as to why there are no retaining clips. I am positive no matter what style lifter it is there should be a retainer clip in the top of it.

There is a retainer, it just isn't a standard c-clip. Don't know what brand it is.

This style actually reduces the travel slightly. I'm aware of only a couple manufacturers who have used this retainer. Me being one of them. Those parts were not from my shop, which leads me to believe they're from Topline/Hy-Lift. Could be wrong...

and here i thought the lifter was being held together by magic. no idea what brand those are
