Default rocker issues. quick advice please.

my harland sharp rockers are hitting the head (pic below) at the edge above the pushrod cup. ive read that i can just dremel it and get the clearance i need. now, ive got my heads torq'd down already. 317 heads, zr1 multi layer gaskets with hi tack spray a gasket between layers, arp head studs...etc... i didnt notice when i was checking pushrod length, but now that i look you can see where the rockers have marked the aluminum during the measuring process. not sure if that would have mucked my measurement up, but i got 7.250" with the checker, checking at each pushrod hole. just wondering what is my best course of action?

any advice is appreciated thanks,
kyle.

Push rods aren't the issue. Your best on this is to either:

1 - remove and replace rockers
2 - clearance them as mentioned - cover EVERYTHING in there and vacuum at same time.
You won't have to remove much.

thanks duffster. im not sure im comfortable with doing this "heads on" so i will most likely pull the heads before i attempt the clean up. that way i can ensure to get a good clean and rinse and be SURE there is no little bits of aluminum floating about. how much clearance should i allow between the head and rocker roughly?

can't give you a GM specification, but I would think 1/16" should cut it just fine...

I'd mill the back of the rockers. I've cut the top of a few sets, but I haven't done the backs...yet.
