Fueling & Injection - Sumped fuelcell EFI n/a EXTERNAL pump setup schooling?

It seems I need some schooling..

Done a ton of searches on various forums, and am getting a lot of mixed answers.

I'm building a fuel system for my LSx s10, and am wondering what's the proper layout once I hit the post pump filter up to the regulator (OR rails, see below).

I think I may have tunnel-vision here because I am under the impression that the fuel pressure should be regulated BEFORE it hits the rails, but am seeing a lot of guys Y-blocking BEFORE the rails, then into the regulator. This is a ~700fwhp 414LSx that will have a dedicated fuel system for a direct port nitrous set-up in the future.

I'm not just looking for how to run it, but WHY it should be run the proper way.

Here's what I am looking at parts-wise thus far:

JAZ sumped/foamed fuelcell in the bed
-10 feed
Aeromotive 100mic pre-pump filter
-10 to pump
Magna Fuel 4302 external FP
-10 to post-pump filter
Aeromotive 10mic post-pump filter

Now from there I WAS going to run up to:

Aeromotive 13101 a1000 bypass regulator
rails in SERIES w/return back to cell...

Now most of the set-up's i am seeing hit the rails FIRST via a Y-block, then Y-ed back into the regulator and return to the cell.

Somebody please help me take the blinders off!

Thanks y'all,

-Greg
