Pulling vacuum up top, intake, exhaust or both?
Setup is a 2002 LS1 motor installed in my Porsche 944.
Stock LS1 MAF, ported stock LS1 throttle body, LS6 intake manifold. Stock motor, EPS 226/230 cam, 1 5/8" primary mid length headers, no cats, dual 2.5" exhaust with an X pipe and a single 18" Magnaflow exhaust.
I'm pulling a pretty strong vacuum up top with my current setup With HP Tuners it's dropping from 82 (I'm at altitude in Denver, CO) to 77.
Tuner has suggested I go to a LS2 MAF/throttle body first, then to a larger set of headers. Someone does make a 1 3/4" primary long tube header for my swap, but as you can imagine they're pricey and I'd have to redo a bit of my exhaust downstream to make them fit.
I'd prefer to address the intake first as it's cheaper/easier to do. Do you guys think this theory is on the right track?
