Default Cam advice - ProCharged L76

Anyone have a wide or super wide LSA on a ProCharged car?

Obviously looking for NO lope, stick with stock converter and ton of mid range power which my stock cam provides... I just need to get rid of the DOD stuff.

Car is a G8, P1SC, 9psi, LTs, cutouts, stock heads, ported intake, stock converter, and 560rwhp right now. Only looking for 40hp, great street manners.

I have to figure out how much intake and exhaust duration I really need, then that'll dictate where my LSA is at.

If I stay mild with a 219/231 ... I can get away with a 117 LSA (-9 overlap). For a really mild build, that might be sufficient.

On the flip side, I could do a 228/240, but would need a 121 LSA (-8 overlap).

Thanks

Second question,

How much lift do I need before I have PTVC?

I'm looking at a .60x/61x lift but heard I could go to to .65x/66x lift but I have never heard of lift like that on a L92 heads

Dude, any cam the sizes you are looking at will need a convertor, tuning, and have considerable lope no matter what LSA. If you really don't want any lope then you should stick with the stock cam. The biggest I would recommend is something along the size of the Lingenfelter GT2-3 which is a great cam for supercharger, but even that will have a little lope to it. The good news it won't need any tuning and will work with stock convertor. Good luck.

I agree, the Lingenfelter GT2-3 camshaft would be a good way to go. You really have to carefully listen (at least I do) to the exhaust note to detect any lope. The LS6 cam http://shop.brutespeed.com/Comp-2002...A-Comp-LS6.htm is also a very good way to go. Bob

I am surprised you didnt recommend your blower cam. I guess that may be more lope than he is looking for although its not big cam lope, just enough to know its in there. I just ordered mine and I am stoked. I figured, you guys have spent enough time with procharged cars to know what an ideal cam would be, so thats what I got. And the flow rates really compliment the extra cubes come to find out. Plus for a 115lsa its pretty nasty sounding. Its being shipped to Fraser @ AES. Hers an attatched vid OP just in case your curious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF0cKiCfzaQ

My cam will make a lot more power than the GT2-3, but the op wanted a cam without any lope, and one that would work with the stock torque converter. Thanks for the order! Bob
