Transmission was patterned off an RPM Trans. level 6 and built by a local Cottman Transmission shop, have all receipts of parts and labor. About $3,600 invested in this unit. Will throw in the poly mount as I won't be needing it anymore. Going to a TH400.
Torque converter is an FTI 4,000 stall that was built tighter for the nitrous. On spray it should stall at 4,400. Model number SRLS6391.
The converter clutch burned up and clogged the filter which smoked the 3rd gear clutches. Converter is only a year old and Greg at FTI should warranty the converter once you recieve the unit should you want to keep it.
$1,200 picked up or plus shipping. You get the converter and the trans. Not willing to seperate unless I have a buyer for both. Need this thing gone and that is my bottom line price.

The story behind this unit and why I am making the switch. Someone asked me this on a local forum so figured I would include:
"Kept having issues with the FTI converter and someone not standing behind their product. First it ate a bearing and clogged my EPC solenoid causing low line pressure and burning all the soft parts after 500 miles. Greg told me he took the converter apart and there were no issues, after the transmission shop tore the unit down and said it most definately was the bearing in the converter that came apart. Paid $1,600 to rebuild a brand new transmission that already had nearly $3,600 in it.
Then after another 1,000 miles the converter clutch burnt up and clogged the filter this time. Burned up the 3rd clutch pack again. Did not bother calling Greg this time as I am not paying $50 for him to tell me the opposite of what I already know. The new owner can pay the $50 to send it back and have the converter rebuilt if they wish.
Just wanting something without lockup and without all the electronics that can be reliably put behind an 800+hp setup."
This was behind a 383 LS1 setup making around 575hp flywheel. Had not seen the spray yet due to breaking in the motor with street miles yet still had issues.

The 3rd gear clutches got smoked. It would only need a new 3rd gear clutch set. If it were me though I would replace all the clutches and the band as it is cheap. All the hard parts and bearings are 1,000 miles old. Only thing that got reused in the whole thing for the rebuild was the valve body casting and the case/bellhousing.
