My stepdad asked me for some advice regarding his vette.

He has a black 05, and he's planning on powdercoating the wheels.

He wants the black tail light covers, possibly the ambers, and the side rear qtr panel light covers.

When he looked online he found covers that GO OVER THE EXISTING COVERS. Ruining the streamline of the car, and protruding out further than is natural.

Does anyone know the best light cover replacements (not something that snaps on top), and where I can find the best price?

THANKS!

beating a dead horse, noodler dane.

do a search, you can vht niteshade them or you can use any brand of the exact covers youre mentioning. regular paint is not recommended.

Just buy something that you find to cover.

I nightshaded my camaro tails. We aren't professionals, I'm certainly not, and I think that the black replacements would look much better.

We want it to look like a normal vette just blacked out. Not like a weird vette with protruding lights, lol.

As you can see... I don't post here much. May 2007 and only 21 posts, lol. So I'm not sure whats been said in the past or not. but the past is the past.

A google search doesnt share a present day human opinion with me. I prefer to ask the forums :)

VHT along with some clearcoat ought to do the trick. You can pick it up at your local auto store. If done correctly it can look very nice. Good luck!

I'm sure they make translucent black vinyl overlays for them somewhere.
